#NewMusicFriday: Blackpink, Bon Jovi, Cosmo’s Midnight, Angie McMahon and more out now

It's #NewMusicFriday! Here's what's out this week.

Following their triumphant tour of Australia at the start of the year, Queen and Adam Lambert release the live album/DVD set Live Around The World. Featuring a selection of performances from around the world between 2014 and 2020, it includes their entire set from the Fire Fight concert, which first appeared on Artists Unite for Fire Fight (#1 Mar. ’20).

Veteran American rockers Bon Jovi return with their 15th studio album, 2020. The band’s first album since This House Is Not For Sale (#1 Nov. ’16) was originally meant to be released in May but got delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It features tracks inspired by the pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement. It could become Bon Jovi’s tenth #1 album on the ARIA Charts.

Sydney electronic duo Cosmo’s Midnight release their second studio album Yesteryear. Coming two years on from their debut What Comes Next (#36 Jun. ’18) it includes a collaboration with Ruel on the track ‘Down For You’.

K-pop stars Blackpink release The Album. It’s the quartet’s first Korean language album and includes the singles ‘How You Like That’ (#12 Jul. ’20) and ‘Ice Cream’ (#16 Sept. ’20), as well as appearances by Cardi B and Selena Gomez. It could give Blackpink their first Albums Chart entry.

Marking the 30th anniversary of Mariah Carey's self-titled debut album, as well as the release of her memoir The Meaning of Mariah Carey, the singer-songwriter releases The Rarities. With a tracklisting personally selected by Carey, it includes songs with a personal meaning to her.

ARIA-nominated singer-songwriter Angie McMahon releases Piano Salt. The EP features re-worked versions of tracks from her album Salt (#5 Aug. ’19), as well as several covers.

Come back Saturday to see where these albums will land in next week's ARIA Albums Chart.
