ARIA #1 Chart Awards
On March 6, ARIA celebrated the achievements of 12 exceptional Australian acts who made it to the top of the Motorola ARIA Charts in 2007. The ARIA #1 Chart Awards honoured those artists who achieved a number one single, album or music DVD throughout the year.
Host extraordinaire James Mathison presided over the ceremonies which took place at Doltone House --Sydney's premiere harbourside venue.
In the period from January 1, 2007 to December 31, 2007, a selection of very diverse Australian acts spent 29 weeks in the #1 position across the ARIA singles, album or music DVD charts. Last year's chart reflected the spectacular return of Crowded House, Kylie Minogue, Silverchair, Delta Goodrem, Human Nature, Powderfinger, AC/DC and Missy Higgins, whilst recognising the burgeoning success of acts such as John Butler Trio, Damien Leith, Evermore and The Veronicas.
