The Selection Panel will evaluate the calibre of the participating artists and their teams. The panel may consider:
The track record and previous successes of the participating artists, including their past releases and performance history.
The organisational capacity of the artists' teams (including label and management) to effectively execute the proposed activities, as demonstrated by their achievements and professional profiles.
The diversity of the artists and their teams, including representation of underrepresented communities within the music industry.
The cultural value and relevance of the artists’ work for Australian and international audiences.
The strength and readiness of the artistic support material provided, such as demos and artist profiles.
Criteria 2: Impact
The panel will assess the potential of the participating artists to contribute to the growth and sustainability of the Australian music industry. They may consider:
The clarity and thoroughness of the artists’ plans for their participation in the program, including the proposed activities and anticipated impacts.
The potential of the artists to achieve strong measurable critical and/or commercial success from the recordings produced.
The extent to which the artists' participation can increase the visibility and consumption of Australian music on various platforms (radio, streaming, sales, etc.).
The potential of the artists’ work to reach diverse and wide-ranging audiences, both locally and globally.
The contribution of the artists' participation to the development of First Nations, female, or non-binary music artists, artists with a disability, regional artists, or artists from any other underrepresented group.
The degree to which the artists demonstrate forward-thinking strategies for their career growth and long-term sustainability.
Criteria 3: Viability
Advisors will evaluate the feasibility of the artists' plans, including their budget, release strategies, and marketing efforts. They may consider:
The viability and achievability of the project plans submitted by the artists, including a realistic budget, release timelines, and overall planning.
The strength of the artists' marketing and promotion strategies, including a well-defined audience development plan and evidence of market demand.
The resources allocated by the artists and their teams (including financial and/or in-kind support) to ensure successful project completion.
The financial capacity of the artists and their teams to undertake the proposed activities, based on their financial statements.
The readiness and experience of the key people and partners involved in the artists’ projects, including their track records in delivering similar successful outputs.
The presence of appropriate safety and wellbeing practices for all participants during the project.
