In its seventh week in the Top 50, ‘Mood’ by 24kGoldn hits #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart for the first time. It becomes the first chart-topper in Australia for the American rapper, real name Golden Landis Von Jones. The move of ‘Mood’ to #1 comes a week after it hit #1 in the UK. To date, it’s peaked at #5 in the US.
Moving up four spots, ‘You Broke Me First’ by Canadian singer-songwriter Tate McRae hits #10. So far, it’s peaked at #23 in her homeland, and at #13 in the UK.
Climbing from #18, Pop Smoke’s ‘For The Night’ hits a new peak at #13. It leaps over the late American rapper’s other current chart hit ‘Mood Swings’ (#5 Sept. ’20), which has dropped from #15 to #19.
A week ahead of the release of Headie One’s debut album, Edna, the single ‘Ain’t It Different’ jumps 13 places to land a new peak at #16. The single peaked at #3 in the UK.
Debuting at #31, Travis Scott joins forces with American rapper Young Thug and British rapper M.I.A. for ‘Franchise’. It’s Scott’s third entry in the Top 50 for the year, having hit the chart earlier in the year with his collaboration with Kid Cudi ‘The Scotts’ (#4 May ’20), as well as the 2016 single ‘Goosebumps’ (#45 May ’20).
Fleetwood Mac’s 1977 hit ‘Dreams’ re-enters the Top 50 at #39 after a viral video on TikTok. Uploaded by user Nathan Apodaca (Doggface208), the video shows him longboarding down a road while drinking juice and listening to the Stevie Nicks-sung track, lip-synching along with it towards the end. It received the seal of approval from the band who reshared it on their social media channels.
Ahead of the release of Love Goes on 30 October, Sam Smith debuts at #46 with ‘Diamonds’. It becomes the third track from the album to chart this year, following on from ‘To Die For’ (#15 Mar. ’20) and ‘I’m Ready’ (#25 Apr. ’20).
American artist salem ilese make her Singles Chart debut at #50 with ‘Mad At Disney’. Released in July, the track has gone viral in recent months on TikTok.
