Adele makes it seven weeks at ARIA Albums Chart #1 with 30

Adele’s dominance continues for a seventh straight week, topping the ARIA Albums Chart with 30, her fourth album. 30 is now one week off equaling the run at #1 by Adele’s previous album, 25 (#1 Nov. ’15).

After debuting at #29 last week, the soundtrack to Disney’s Encanto races up the chart to hit #6. The Lin-Manuel Miranda-composed album includes songs sung in both English and Spanish. Two of its tracks have hit this week’s Top 50: ‘We Don't Talk About Bruno’ (#20) and ‘Surface Pressure’ (#44).

Kid A Mnesia, the reissue of Radiohead’s turn of the century albums – Kid A (#2 Oct. ‘00) and Amnesiac (#2 Jun. ‘01) – re-enters the chart at #7 on the back of a surge in vinyl sales. It returns to #1 on the ARIA Vinyl Albums Chart after debuting at the top of that chart in mid-November.

The soundtrack to Sing 2 jumps up twelve spots in its second week on the Albums Chart to hit #11. The album includes an original song by U2, ‘Your Song Saved My Life’, plus performances by Taron Egerton, Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson and many more. The soundtrack to the original Sing film peaked at #2 in January 2017.
