ARIA DJ Of The Week: Damo Cox

Meet the Gold Coast DJ/producer.

Hailing from the Gold Coast where the party never stops, DJ and Producer Damo Cox is the sure-fire way to get a good time vibe started, dropping all the loved and latest heavy hitting house tracks to get the dance floor moving.

In 2015 after a decade of traveling around Australia, USA and Germany representing Slingshot and Prowake in the sport of Wakeboarding, a decision was made to stop injuring himself and put his energy in to another passion, music! An opportunity to participate in the Brisbane based competition ‘Your Shot’ led to the first public appearance behind the decks, and a love was formed.

Fast forward to now, Damo has been on support for some of Australia’s biggest DJ acts including Yolanda Be Cool, Lo’99, Wongo and Airwolf. In 2018 he released his debut single ‘Ready’ which was followed up by the ‘Out of Sight EP’ which was released early on in 2019.

Current projects include a long-standing residency at Rattle Snake in Coolangatta, as well as regular appearances at Aviary and Skyline Rooftop bars. Listeners can also find his tunes on his weekly DJ mix 'Shenanigans' on 105.7 Radio Metro (4-5pm Sundays), voted #2 by Radio Metro Listeners for 2017 and 2018 for ‘Best Local DJ Show’.
