Chillinit takes his fifth top 5

Olivia Rodrigo’s “You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love” holds at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart for the second week. She is the fourth female artist to top the chart this year, along with Olivia Dean, Hilary Duff and Maisie Peters.

Aussie rapper Chillinit arrives at #5 with “Wisdom Weed & Wordplay”. It’s his fifth studio album and fifth top five result; he landed at #3 in 2018 with “Women Weed & Wordplay”, #2 in 2020 with “The Octagon”, #3 in 2020 with “Full Circle” and #5 in 2021 with “Family Ties”. His mixtape, “420DNA”, reached #3 in 2023. The album is also #1 on the Australian Albums Chart and #10 on the Vinyl Chart.

Perth psychedelic rock band Pond debuts at #19 on the Albums Chart, #2 on the Australian Albums Chart and #3 on the Vinyl Chart with their 11th album, “Terrestrials”. They have hit the top 50 six times before this week, reaching #15 in 2015 with “Man It Feels Like Space Again”, #15 in 2019 with “Tasmania” and #6 in 2021 with “9”.

Leah Senior’s “Pt. Roadknight” is new at #42 and #5 on the Australian Albums Chart. It’s the Victorian folk musician’s fifth album and the first to land in the top 50. She reached #58 in 2020 with her third album, “The Passing Scene”.

On the Singles Chart, the arrival of “Toy Story 5” in cinemas last Friday sends Taylor Swift’s track from the movie, “I Knew It, I Knew You” yo-yoing back to the top. It debuted at #1 three weeks ago, fell to #11 last week and jumps back to the summit this week.

Tame Impala’s “Dracula” rebounds from #18 to #10. It peaked at #4 earlier this year and has now spent 35 non-consecutive weeks at #1 on the Australian Singles Chart. The record for the most weeks at #1 on that chart is held by Vance Joy’s “Riptide”, with 61 weeks on top.

No change on the On Replay charts, with Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” at #1 on the albums chart (and “Bad” at #2) and “Billie Jean” holding at #1 on the singles chart (“Beat It” is at #2).
