DMA’S score their first #1

ARIA Award winning trio DMA’S score their first #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart this week as their self-titled fifth studio album arrives in the penthouse. 

“DMA’S” follows “Hills End”, which climbed to #8 in 2016, “For Now” (#7 in 2018), “The Glow” (#2 in 2020) and “How Many Dreams?” (#2 in 2023). 

ARIA CEO, Annabelle Herd, said: “Congratulations to DMA’S on a career best chart performance, taking the number one spot with their self-titled album no less. This is just another achievement in a string of incredible work over more than a decade and we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome them to the top of the ARIA Chart.” 

Tasmania’s Miss Kaninna lands at #8, #4 on the Vinyl Chart and #2 on the Australian Albums Chart with her debut mixtape, “BLACKPRINT”. Her first single, “Blak Britney”, scored three ARIA Awards nominations in 2024; she received another three nominations in 2025. 

Aussie singer-songwriter Vera Blue is new at #12, #3 on the Vinyl Chart and #3 on the Australian Albums Chart with “Modern Rituals”. It’s her fourth album: she reached #14 in 2013 with “This Music” and #6 in 2017 with “Perennial”. Hard on her heels, Brisbane rapper, producer and singer Nerve debuts at #14 with his fifth album, “Growing Pains”; it’s at #4 on the Australian Albums Chart. 

K-pop boy band Enhyphen debut at #20 with “The Sin: Bliss”. It’s their first time on the albums chart. 

Hands Like Houses’ EP “Lotus” re-enters at #22. It reached #5 earlier this year and became the Canberra band’s third top 10 result following “Dissonants” (#7 in 2016) and “Anon” (#4 in 2018). 

WA’s Crooked Colours, real name Philip Slabber, debuts at #31. It’s his first top 50 appearance. 

On the Singles Chart, Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” reclaims the #1 spot for its 11th non-consecutive week on top. Female artists or groups have now been at #1 for every week since early August last year (including Sam Fender and Olivia Dean’s collaboration “Rein Me In”). 

Several tracks reach or hold at new peaks this week, including Stella Lefty’s “Boston” at #4, Malcolm Todd’s “Earrings” (#7), Temper City’s “Self Aware” at #10 (it’s the Israeli band’s first hit) and Sienna Spiro’s “Great Expectation” (#15). 

No change on the On Replay charts, with Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” holding at #1 on the albums chart and The Killers’ “Mr Brightside” the #1 single. The latter’s lead singer, Brandon Flowers, debuts at #44 on the main albums chart with his third solo album, “Thrasher”.
