Ed Sheeran claims sixth ARIA #1 single with Bad Habits

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran takes out his sixth chart-topping single in Australia as he debuts at #1 with ‘Bad Habits’. The track is the first release from Sheeran’s forthcoming fifth album, the follow-up to No.6 Collaborations Project (#1 Jul. ’19). Sheeran last charted with the standalone single ‘Afterglow’ (#7 Jan. ’21). He’s previously topped the Singles Chart with ‘Sing’ (#1 May ‘14), ‘Thinking Out Loud’ (#1 Oct. ‘14), ‘Shape of You’ (#1 Jan. ‘17), ‘Perfect’ (#1 Dec. ‘17) and ‘I Don't Care’ (#1 May ‘19).

A week on from debuting at #22, Italian band Maneskin jump up 16 spots to hit #6 with ‘Beggin’. The cover of the The Four Seasons’ 1967 classic has also been a Top Ten in the UK and across Europe. The 2021 Eurovision Song Contest winners also debut at #21 this week with ‘I Wanna Be Your Slave’.

As Doja Cat’s Planet Her album debuts at #3, the American artist grabs two debuts in this week’s Top 50: ‘You Right’ (#11) and ‘I Don’t Do Drugs’ (#43). The higher of the two tracks is a collaboration with Canadian star The Weeknd and serves as the second official single from the album. Previous release ‘Need To Know’ has climbed back to #32, one spot below its peak.

Six weeks into its chart run, Vance Joy’s ‘Missing Piece’ moves up three spots to score a new peak at #20.

Debuting at #2 on this week’s Albums Chart with Call Me If You Get Lost, American rapper Tyler, The Creator scores three entries in the Singles Chart Top 50: ‘WusYaName’ (#22), ‘Lumberjack’ (#40) and ‘Juggernaut’ (#49). ‘WusYaName’ features appearances by YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Ty Dolla Sign.

Tom Grennan’s ‘Little Bit Of Love’ climbs six to claim a new peak at #24.

Marshmello and the Jonas Brothers take out a new peak with ‘Leave Before You Love Me’ as it jumps five to #33.

With her debut album, Welcome to the Madhouse, set for release on 16 July, Tones And I takes out another charting single from it with ‘Cloudy Day’. It’s the second single from the album to hit the Top 50 after ‘Fly Away’ (#4 Feb. ’21). It’s the ARIA Award-winning singer-songwriter’s seventh Top 50 entry.
