Seven-time ARIA Award winner Genesis Owusu storms onto the ARIA Albums Chart at #3 with his third album, Redstar Wu & The Worldwide Scourge, which also arrives at  #1 on the Australian Albums Chart and the Vinyl Albums Chart. Genesis reached #27 in 2021 with Smiling With No Teeth and #4 in 2023 with Struggler.

Canada’s Drake returns with not one but three new albums: Iceman debuts at #1, Maid Of Honour at #5 and Habibti at #6. He has now scored 16 solo and collaborative top 10 albums including the chart toppers Views (2016), Scorpion (2018), Dark Lane Demo Tapes (2020), Certified Lover Boy (2021) and For All The Dogs (2023).

Drake is the first artist to hit the top 10 with three new albums in the same week since the ARIA charts started in 1983.

Guns N’ Roses scored a double in 1991 when Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II debuted at #1 and #2 respectively in the same week, while Bruce Springsteen pulled off the same feat in 1992 with Human Touch (#3) and Lucky Town (#6).

Honourable mentions: in 2002, Tom Waits debuted in the same week with the new albums Blood Money (#25) and Alice (#26), while in 2014 two new Prince albums arrived in the same week: Art Official Age at #15 and Plectrumelectrum at #33.

Aussie rock group Rose Carleo Band land at #34 on the main albums chart and #2 on the Australian albums chart with their debut album, 42 Days (as a solo act, Rose released Time Is Now in 2015).

Ella Langley holds onto the #1 spot on the ARIA Singles Chart  for the second week with Choosin’ Texas.

New tracks from Drake flood the chart, led by National Treasures at #4, Janice STFU at #5, Whisper My Name at #6, Make Them Cry at #9 and Dust at #10. All up, 15 Drake songs sit in the top 50 this week.

Drake has now racked up 98 top 50 hits (including collaborations), stretching back to Take Care with Rihanna, which peaked at #9 in 2012. He has reached the summit with One Dance (featuring Wizkid and Kyla) in 2016 and God’s Plan, Nice For What and In My Feelings in 2018.

Michael Jackson’s Thriller holds at #1 on the ARIA On Replay Albums Chart and he is also at #2 with Bad. Jackson’s Billie Jean tops the singles chart, with Beat It at #2.
