The KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack returns to #1 for its fifth non-consecutive week on top of the ARIA Albums Chart this week. Seven tracks from the album are in the top 20 Singles Chart. .
Guy Sebastian debuts at #2 with 100 Times Around The Sun. It’s his 10th studio album, all of which have reached the top 10 (he also hit the top 10 with a greatest hits album).
The winner of seven ARIA Awards, Guy was scored three #1 albums: Just As I Am in 2003, Armageddon in 2012 and T.R.U.T.H. in 2020. He also boasts six solo chart-toppers on the ARIA Singles Chart.
Lost Americana, the new album from MGK (formerly Machine Gun Kelly), debuts at #3. It’s his seventh studio album; his best performers here have been Tickets To My Downfall, which reached #2 in 2020, and Mainstream Sellout, which spent one week at #1 in 2022.
New at #4 is Cold Chisel’s The Big Five-O Live, recorded on 23 November last year at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl as part of their 50th anniversary tour. It’s their 10th live album to reach the top 40, including chart-topper Swingshift.
Cold Chisel has had 27 top 50 albums including six chart-toppers: Swingshift in 1981, Circus Animals in 1982, Twentieth Century in 1984, The Last Wave Of Summer in 1998, Blood Moon in 2019 and 50 Years – The Best Of last year.
Ethel Cain debuts at #5 with Willoughby Tucker, I’ll Always Love You. Her 2022 album Preacher’s Daughter reached #5 earlier this year.
And continuing the Aussie top 15 success, DJ and producer Ninajirachi’s debut album I Love My Computer arrives at #18.
On the Singles Chart, Golden by HUNTR/X holds at #1 for the third straight week. The song is voiced by Ejay, Rei Ami and Audrey Nuna, the latter of whom wrapped shows in Sydney and Melbourne this week. All three are first timers on the ARIA Singles Chart. THis week, the track became the first from a Korean girl group to hit #1 on the Billboard chart. The longest running #1 from an animated movie is Pharrell Williams’ Happy from Despicable Me 2, which ruled the ARIA Singles Chart for 12 weeks in 2014.
