Debuts for Billie Eilish, Post Malone, Swae Lee, Khalid and more!
Jumping up 16 places, ‘Shallow’, the lead single from the soundtrack to A Star Is Born hits #1 on this week’s ARIA Singles Chart. It’s Lady Gaga’s fourth track to top the chart, having previously peaked at #1 with ‘Just Dance’ (#1 Sept. ’08), ‘Poker Face’ (#1 Nov. ’08) and ‘Born This Way’ (#1 Feb. ’11). Bradley Cooper’s debut chart appearance has given him his first #1.
With Khalid’s new EP Suncity debuting at #9 on this week’s Album Chart, its lead single moves up three spots to claim a new peak at #6. The American singer-songwriter takes out another chart entry this week, debuting at #30 with the EP’s title track (see below).
After cracking the Top Ten for the first time last week, Halsey’s ‘Without Me’ moves up a further two spots to hit a new peak this week at #8.
This week’s chart also includes new peaks for Kodak Black’s ‘Zeze’ (#14), Kian’s ‘Waiting’ (#28) and Morgan Evans’ ‘Day Drunk’ (#35).
#10: Billie Eilish ‘When The Party's Over’ – Billie Eilish takes out a second Top Ten entry on the ARIA Singles Chart with ‘When The Party's Over’. The track is the first to be released from the 16-year-old American singer-songwriter’s forthcoming debut album. Eilish first hit the Top Ten with ‘Lovely’ (#5 Jul. ’18).
#13: Post Malone & Swae Lee ‘Sunflower (From Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse)’ – American rappers Post Malone and Swae Lee collaborate on ‘Sunflower (From Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse)’. The song is from the soundtrack to the upcoming animated film Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. It’s Post Malone’s first chart debut since having 13 in one week back in March. It’s Swae Lee’s first chart entry as a lead artist.
#18: Lady Gaga ‘Always Remember Us This Way’ – As the soundtrack to A Star Is Born hits #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, several tracks from the album make their debut on this week’s Singles Chart. ‘Always Remember Us This Way’ is a country ballad sung by Lady Gaga. It has already charted in the UK, US and New Zealand.
#30: Khalid Feat. Empress Of ‘Suncity’ – Debuting at #9 on the Albums Chart with Suncity, American singer-songwriter Khalid hits the Singles Chart with the EP’s title track. Featuring Los Angeles singer-songwriter Empress Of, the track is the second to chart from the EP after ‘Better’ (#6 Oct. ’18).
#32: Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper ‘I’ll Never Love Again’ – The second track from A Star Is Born to hit this week’s Top 50 is a duet by its stars, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper and features in the film’s final scene. There are two version of the song on the soundtrack album: the duet and an extended version sung only by Lady Gaga.
#33: Dua Lipa ‘Kiss And Make Up’ – Following the release of a deluxe edition of her self-titled debut album, Dua Lipa hit the Singles Chart with ‘Kiss And Make Up’. The track sees the English artist collaborating with K-pop girl band Blackpink.
#46: Charli XCX & Troye Sivan ‘1999’ – British artist Charli XCX teams up with ARIA-nominated Perth singer-songwriter Troye Sivan for ‘1999’. It becomes Charli XCX’s first Top 50 entry since ‘After The Afterparty’ (#30 Dec. ’16). Troye Sivan has charted in 2018 with ‘My My My!’ (#14 Jan. ’18), ‘Bloom’ (#34 May ’18) and ‘Dance To This’ (#39 Jun. ’18).
