There's debuts for Zayn, Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson and more!
Danish quartet Lukas Graham has topped the ARIA Singles Chart for a third straight week with their track ‘7 Years’.
On the back of last week’s #1 on the Albums Chart with Drinking From The Sun, Walking Under Stars Restrung, Adelaide’s Hilltop Hoods have another reason to celebrate. A jump of four spots for ‘1955’ has given the trio their highest ever peak on the ARIA Singles Chart; surpassing their previous peak of #4 reached with ‘Cosby Sweater’.
Rihanna’s ‘Work’ moves up five places in its fifth week in the top 50, becoming her fifteenth top five as a lead artist on the ARIA Singles Chart.
After two weeks at #4, Twenty One Pilots’ ‘Stressed Out’ has returned to its previous peak of #3. There are new peaks for Flo Rida’s ‘My House’ (up one to #6) and Daya’s ‘Hide Away’ (up eleven to #13).
Debuts:
#20: Alan Walker ‘Faded’ – British-born, Norwegian-raised producer Alan Walker makes his ARIA Charts debut with ‘Faded’. The track features vocals by follow Norwegian artists Iselin Solheim. It’s already hit #1 in a number of European countries, including Norway.
#21: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Feat. Idris Elba & Anderson .Paak ‘Dance Off’ – The second single to be released from Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ second album This Unruly Mess I've Made (new at #6 this week), following on from ‘Downtown’ (#1 Oct. ’15). ‘Dance Off’ features guest appearances by British actor/musician Idris Elba (The Wire, Luther) and rapper Anderson .Paak.
#24: Kelly Clarkson ‘Piece By Piece’ – The title track from Kelly Clarkson’s seventh album gives the American singer her first Singles Chart appearance in a year. Its debut comes following the release of a live version, performed on American Idol. Clarkson last charted with ‘Heartbeat Song’ (#29 Mar. ’15).
#38: Zayn ‘It's You’ – The second solo track to be released by former One Direction member Zayn Malik. Like ‘Pillowtalk’ (#1 Feb. ’16), ‘It’s You’ comes from Malik’s debut solo album Mind Of Mine, which is out on 25 March.
#39: Fifth Harmony Feat. Ty Dolla $ign ‘Work From Home’ – American girl group Fifth Harmony pick up their second top 50 appearance with ‘Work From Home’. The Ty Dolla $ign-featuring single is the follow-up to ‘Worth It’ (#9 Aug. ’15) and comes from their forthcoming second album 7/27.
#46: Mike Posner ‘I Took A Pill In Ibiza’ – Mike Posner grabs his first appearance in the ARIA top 50 since 2011 with ‘I Took A Pill In Ibiza’. The American producer has previously charted with ‘Bow Chicka Wow Wow’ (#40 May ’11) and ‘Cooler Than Me’ (#4 Oct. ’10).
#47: Taylor Swift ‘New Romantics’ – Taylor Swift notches up an eighth top 50 track from 1989 (#1 Nov. ’14) with ‘New Romantics’. The track was originally released as a bonus track on the deluxe edition of the album. Previously charting tracks from 1989 include: ‘Shake It Off’ (#1 Sept. ’14), ‘Out Of The Woods’ (#19 Oct. ’14), ‘Welcome To New York’ (#23 Oct. ’14) ‘Blank Space’ (#1 Nov. ’14), ‘Style’ (#8 Feb. 15), ‘Bad Blood’ (#1 June ’15) and ‘Wildest Dreams’ (#3 Sept. ’15).
