Morgan Wallen marks a milestone

Morgan Wallen’s I’m The Problem holds at #1 for the third consecutive week on the ARIA Albums Chart.

It’s now the longest-running #1 album by a country singer since Lee Kernaghan’s Spirit Of The Anzacs spent four weeks on top in 2015. The record for a country album is held by Shania Twain’s Come On Over, which was #1 for 20 weeks in 1999.

Taylor Swift’s recent acquisition of the master recordings of her first six albums sends her 2017 album Reputation roaring back up the chart, jumping from #34 last week to #2. She has re-recorded four of the six albums; the exceptions are Reputation and her self-titled debut album. Taylor has said she has re-recorded less than a quarter of Reputation, which spent two weeks at #1 in 2017.

Miley Cyrus’ ninth studio album, Something Beautiful, is new at #4. Eight of the nine albums have landed in the top 20, including three that went all the way to #1: Breakout in 2008, Bangerz in 2013 and Endless Summer Vacation in 2023. As Hannah Montana, she scored another three top 20 albums.

The reunion of Aussie rock band Cloud Control after a seven-year break sees their 2010 album Bliss Release return to the chart at #19. It peaked at #20 in 2010. Their best chart performer was Dream Cave, which climbed to #9 in 2013.

On the Singles Chart, Alex Warren’s Ordinary holds the top spot for the 11th consecutive week. It ties with seven other songs that spent 11 weeks at #1: Wings’ Mull of Kintyre (1977-78), Bryan Adams’ (Everything I Do) I Do It For You (1991), Spice Girls’ Wannabe (1996-97), Drake’s God’s Plan (2018), The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights (2020), Mood by 24kGoldn featuring Iann Dior (2020-21) and Glass Animals’ Heat Waves (2021-22).

Tate McRae debuts at #5 with Just Keep Watching from the soundtrack to the new Brad Pitt movie F1. Co-written by OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder, it’s her 11th top 20 single here. Her best result so far came with Greedy, which peaked at #2 in 2023. Tate is also at #14 with this week as the featured artist on Morgan Wallen’s What I Want
