Paramore powers to the top

Miley nabs five weeks at #1

Paramore powers to the top

American rock band Paramore take out the top spot on the ARIA Albums Chart this week with This Is Why, while Miley Cyrus’ grip on the #1 singles spot with Flowers shows no sign of wilting.

Pushing aside Taylor Swift’s Midnights, This Is Why is Paramore’s first album since After Laughter in 2017, which peaked at #3. They have scored two #1 albums in Australia: Brand New Eyes in 2009 and Paramore in 2013.

Miley’s reign at the top of the ARIA Singles Chart could be under threat, as PinkPantheress’ Boy’s A Liar flies to #3 from #25 last week. It’s the English singer, songwriter and record producer’s first hit in Australia.

Also stepping in the top 10 for the first time are Miguel’s Sure Thing at #7 and Coi Leray’s Players at #8. It’s Coi’s first hit single here and Miguel’s second top 10, following his 2013 teaming with Mariah Carey on #Beautiful, which topped out at #6.

Recent visitor to Australia, Fred Again.., is on the move with Delilah (pull me out of this) jumping from #37 to #25.
