Olivia Dean’s “The Art Of Loving” returns to #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart for the first time since late April, while NSW rock band V.Spy V.Spy makes a return to the ARIA Albums Chart with their 40th Anniversary reissues of “Harry’s Reasons” and “A.O Mod. TV. Vers” taking the #7 and #8 spots.
“The Art of Loving” has earned its 14th non-consecutive week on top. The album has not left the top five since it debuted at #1 in October last year.
V.Spy V.Spy enjoy their first time in the ARIA Albums top 10 with “Harry’s Reasons” and “A.O. Mod. TV. Vers.” breaking through. “Harry’s Reasons” first debuted at #42 in 1986, and “A.O. Mod. TV. Vers.” peaked at #12 in 1987.
V.Spy V.Spy also take the #1 and #2 spots on the Australian Albums Chart and the #4 and #5 spots on the Vinyl Chart. The albums also debut at #4 and #6 on the On Replay Catalogue Albums Chart. The band hold three spots on the Australian On Replay Albums Chart, with Live at the Prince of Wales 1984 entering at #18.
Noah Kahan’s “The Great Divide” comes in at #2 on the ARIA Albums Chart and #3 in the Vinyl Chart, spending three weeks at the summit in May.
The release of a Super Deluxe version of The Beatles’ 1965 “Rubber Soul” sends it roaring back onto the chart at #4; it’s also #1 on the On Replay Albums Chart. The album, which includes “In My Life”, “Nowhere Man” and “Michelle”, spent 11 weeks at #1 in 1966 and was one of the band’s 14 chart toppers here. The super deluxe version of “Rubber Soul” also takes the #2 spot on the Vinyl Album Charts.
West Australian rock band Old Mervs’ second album, “Carparks”, debuts at #16. Their debut, “Old Mervs”, reached #4 last year. “Carparks” is #3 on the Australian Artist Albums Chart and #11 on the Vinyl Albums Chart.
Killing Heidi singer Ella Hooper’s “Overnight Success”, is new at #19. It’s her third solo album and first to crack the top 50. The winner of four ARIA Awards, Killing Heidi has racked up three top 20 albums, including “Reflector”, which spent six weeks at #1 in 2000. “Overnight Success” is #4 on the Australian Albums Chart and #9 on the Vinyl Chart.
Former Little River Band lead singer Glenn Shorrock debuts at #34 with “Legendary (The Ultimate Collection)”. He has released 12 studio, live and greatest hits albums; the best performer was "Villain Of The Peace”, which got to #32 in 1982. “Legendary (The Ultimate Collection)” places #6 on the Australian Albums Chart and #31 on the Vinyl Chart.
Cold Chisel guitarist Ian Moss and country star Troy Cassar-Daley are new at #49 with their collaboration, “Together Alone Live At The Ulumbarra Theatre”. It’s Ian’s seventh top 50 album, including “Matchbook”, which hit #1 in 1989. A six-time ARIA Award winner, Troy has now scored 14 top 50 albums. “Together Alone Live At The Ulumbarra Theatre” rounds out the top 10 on the Australian Albums Chart and takes the #31 spot on the Vinyl Chart.
On the Singles Chart, Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” reclaims the #1 spot, giving it 16 non-consecutive weeks on top.
Several tracks climb to new peaks this week, including Ashe’s “Stop The Wedding” at #11 and Sienna Spiro’s “Great Expectation” at #13.
The Killers’ “Mr Brightside” holds at #1 on the On Replay Singles Chart.
