ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) and PPCA (Phonographic Performance Company of Australia) are the driving forces behind Australia’s recorded music scene. We champion Australian music, artists, and the industry at large through events, licensing, advocacy, and promotion.
We’re looking for a natural storyteller who lives and breathes TikTok, loves the music scene, youth culture and knows how to build community. This is a part-time position, and we are a flexible employer.
About the Role
This isn’t a behind-the-scenes role. You’ll be the face and voice of ARIA and PPCA across TikTok, Reels, Shorts, and emerging platforms - creating scroll-stopping content that inspires discovery, showcases homegrown talent, and sparks real conversation. Whether it’s breaking down how the ARIA Charts work or spotlighting an emerging artist, your content will help fans, artists and the industry connect in fresh, authentic ways.
What you’ll do
Working closely with our Social Media Coordinator and broader team, you’ll support content creation, community management, drive conversation, and grow our follower base by showcasing the music, people, and stories behind the Australia’s music scene.
Create Content That Connects
Develop and execute a weekly/monthly content calendar aligned with campaigns, events, and industry moments
Create and appear in TikToks, Reels, and Shorts that highlight Australian artists, trends, stories, and industry insights - you’re comfortable being on camera and showing up as yourself
Spotlight new talent, viral moments, and behind-the-scenes action.
Jump on trends, start new ones, make them relevant to our music scene and keep content culturally relevant.
Tell stories about Aussie artists, fans, the music industry, and behind-the-scenes moments
Use native platform tools and editing apps like CapCut, VN, or InShot to keep things snappy and mobile-first
Drive Real Community
Respond to comments, stitch duets, reply with videos, encourage fan/artist interaction. Spark and keep the conversation going
Spotlight creators, artists, and fans in clever, human and authentic ways
Build a recognisable voice and presence across platforms that feels fresh, authentic, culturally current and distinctly local
Collaborate with artists, creators, and fans to feature diverse voices and perspectives

Drive growth across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Snapchat and explore emerging platforms
Track performance, test new formats, learn, share and build on what catches fire.
Stay across the latest features, algos and trends across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Snapchat and emerging platforms (Lemon8, Threads, etc.)
Keep us ahead of the curve on trends, tools, and content formats
Who You Are:
A confident, authentic on-camera creator and natural short-form storyteller.
Fast-moving, and comfortable experimenting with real-time/on-the-go editing/posting skills
Deeply fluent in TikTok culture, music trends, digital culture and platforms with experience making content that performs
Passionate about Australian music and excited to support local artists
Comfortable engaging in public - comments, reactions, vox pops, and duets are your playground
Quick, curious, and collaborative - able to take initiative and bring ideas fast.
Experience in social media content creation, community management, or digital content creation
Bonus Points:
Experience working with fans, creators, artists, or in the music industry
On-camera hosting, interviewing, or journalism background
Basic graphic design or motion design skills (e.g. Canva, CapCut)
