2025 PUBLIC VOTED ARIA AWARDS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SPOTIFY

VOTING TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Submitting a vote is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.

1. WHO CAN VOTE?

Voting is open to residents in Australia only (except in the category of Most Popular International Artist where eligible votes will also be accepted via users of the platform known as X (formerly Twitter) from countries outside of Australia).

You must have a Spotify account registered in Australia if you wish to cast your vote via the Spotify platform.

If you are aged under 18 years at the time of voting, you must obtain your parent or legal guardian’s consent before submitting a vote.

2. WHEN CAN YOU VOTE?

You must cast your vote within the Voting Period. ARIA may vary the designated Voting Period for any of the Public Voted ARIA Award categories at its discretion. ARIA will publish any changes to any Voting Period on https://www.aria.com.au/vote

3. HOW CAN YOU VOTE?

Votes for the following 2025 Public Voted ARIA Awards Categories can be cast as follows:

 Voting via X for the ARIA Award Category of Most Popular International Artist

• You must have a registered X account and be logged into X in order to cast your vote via X in the Most Popular International Artist category. If you do not have a X account, you can go to https://x.com/ to register or you can download the X app to your device and then complete the account registration process.
• The account settings for your X account must be set to “unprotected” or “public” in order for your vote to be considered during the Voting Period.
• In order for your post via X to be considered as a valid vote, your post must: (a) include the correct and complete ARIA designated hashtag for the applicable nominee; (b) comply with any X requirements (including the number of characters); (c) must not include any obscene images and must not include any derogatory, racist, discriminatory or obscene language; and (d) not include multiple votes for nominees in the same post. If you include multiple hashtags in the same post, the first hashtag listed in the post will be recognised.
• Reposts of valid X votes/posts will be considered as a valid vote.
• You are responsible for ensuring that votes are submitted by the authorised user of the X account.
• Any votes submitted via X are also subject to X’s Terms of Service.

General Voting Conditions

• You may need to have java script and/or cookies enabled to be able to submit a vote via the ARIA Voting Page.
• Once you are on the ARIA Voting Page or the Voting Playlists on the Spotify platform, you will be required to follow the prompts to vote. With the exception of any votes submitted via X, if you successfully submit your vote, you will receive a message on your screen to confirm that your vote has been submitted. If you do not receive a confirmation message, you will need to try again.
• Votes are deemed made at the time each vote is received by ARIA, Spotify or X (as applicable) in its database and not at the time sent by the voter. ARIA, Spotify and X accept no responsibility for any late, lost or misdirected votes due to technical disruptions, network congestion or for any other reason.
• Access to the ARIA Voting Page, Spotify and X may be restricted for certain tablet, mobile or other portable devices. It is your responsibility to check the functionality of the voting application on your device prior to voting.

ARIA, Spotify and X do not charge any fees for submitting a vote. However, you must have a registered Spotify account if you wish to cast a vote via Spotify.  There may be costs associated with your internet service provider or mobile/other device service or data charges. You should check with your service provider for details of such fees before submitting a vote. 

6. WHAT VOTES ARE INVALID?

The following votes are invalid:

• Votes cast outside of the Voting Period as set out in clause 2 above.
• Votes submitted from outside of Australia (with the exception of eligible votes submitted via X).
• Votes generated by a script, computer programs, macro, programmed, robotic or other automated processes or methods.
• Votes that are incomplete, corrupted, false, lost, late, misdirected or deceptive.
• Votes that threaten, harass or abuse other persons or are submitted with the intent to threaten, abuse or harass any other person.
• Votes that are otherwise not in compliance with these Terms & Conditions
• Votes that are reasonably suspected to have been fraudulently made to unfairly alter the voting results.
• Votes in the Most Popular International Artist category that do not include the complete or correct ARIA designated hashtag.
• Votes in the Most Popular International Artist category that: (a) include multiple nominee names and/or hashtags (only the first hashtag may be considered).

Please also see the clauses 1 and 4 above regarding voting validity.

ARIA, Spotify and their respective authorised contractors, reserve the right to verify the validity of all votes received via their respective platforms, and to disqualify any person that either ARIA or Spotify determine has tampered with the voting process, engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the proper conduct of the voting process, has submitted a vote that is not in accordance with these Terms & Conditions or who has, in the opinion of ARIA or Spotify (as applicable), engaged in conduct or generally damaging to the goodwill, integrity or reputation of the ARIA Awards. Any votes submitted by such person in the aforementioned manner may be deemed invalid by ARIA or Spotify (as applicable) in its sole discretion.

ARIA reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who ARIA has reason to believe has breached any of these Terms and Conditions. Where necessary, a contingency plan may be actioned at ARIA’s discretion.

ARIA’s decision in relation to all matters affecting the voting is final and no correspondence will be entered into. ARIA also retains the right to specify keywords, or other criteria, which, its sole discretion, may validate or invalidate a X vote.

7. HOW WILL THE ARIA AWARD WINNER BE DETERMINED?

ARIA will receive, collate and calculate the total number of valid votes submitted during the relevant Voting Period for each of the nominees in each of the Public Voted ARIA Awards categories listed in clause 3 above. The nominee with the most valid votes (calculated following the conclusion of the Voting Period), as determined by ARIA, will be declared the winner of the ARIA Award in that category.

ARIA’s determination is final and no correspondence will be entered into. ARIA reserves the right to keep the voting tally confidential. No results other than what is required for the purpose of the announcement of the winners of the 2025 ARIA Awards will be released to the public.

8. PRIVACY

ARIA may collect personal information about you for the purposes of conducting this public voting process, to enable you to vote, to ensure compliance with these Terms and Conditions and as a security feature to minimise voter fraud. Types of personal information collected by ARIA may include your:

• name;
• contact information (including email address, residential address and phone number); and
• device’s IP address.

This information may be collected to verify this your compliance with these Terms and Conditions and the origin of your vote.

ARIA is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles (“APPs”) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and by casting a vote, each voter is taken to consent to ARIA’s privacy policy. Please refer to the ARIA Privacy Policy at https://www.aria.com.au/privacy-policy  for further details on how ARIA handles your information.

Any votes submitted via Spotify will be subject to Spotify’s Privacy Policy: https://www.spotify.com/au/legal/privacy-policy/

Any votes submitted via X will be subject to X's Privacy Policy: https://x.com/en/privacy

Please contact ARIA at: awards@aria.com.au if you have any queries. The public voting process is administered by ARIA and not by Spotify or X. Enquiries should be directed to ARIA at first instance and not any other parties.

You should only direct any technical or account queries regarding:

• the X platform: to X - https://help.x.com/en

 10. GENERAL INFORMATION

If for any reason this voting process is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any causes beyond the control of ARIA, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of the voting process, then ARIA reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any person who tampers with the voting process, take any action that may be available and/or to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the voting process. Additionally, if for any reason, this voting process is interrupted in any way, or for any other reason that ARIA determines in its sole discretion to be reasonably necessary, ARIA reserves the right to select the winner of the particular Public Voted ARIA Award Category, taking into consideration the number of eligible votes received by each nominee up until the time of the interruption or cancelation of the voting process.

Please note that any posts that you cast as a vote in the category of Most Popular International Artist can be seen by the public and may be reposted or subject to replies by the public. ARIA and X have no liability to you in respect of this.

ARIA (and its associated agencies, members and sponsors), Spotify Australia Pty Ltd, Spotify AB, X Corp, Network Ten Pty Limited and Network Ten All Access Pty Limited (collectively Ten), will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the voting process except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. ARIA (and its associated agencies, members and sponsors), Spotify, X and Ten are not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information either caused by the voter or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this voting process, any public comments, retweets or statements made online or elsewhere by persons in relation to your vote; or for any technical error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of the voting process including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications or network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of votes.

You indemnify and hold ARIA (and its associated agencies, members and sponsors), Spotify, X and Ten harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, made by a third party due to or arising out of the violation of these Terms & Conditions by you.

ARIA reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of New South Wales.
