2013 ARIA Awards: the winners, performances, photos, videos and more

Revisit the highlights from the 27th ARIAs.

The 2013 ARIA Awards were held on 1 December 2013 at the Star Event Centre, Sydney.

The Winners

The man of the 2013 Awards was Flume. He took home multiple awards including Breakthrough Artist, Best Male Artist and Best Dance Release for the album Flume, in addition to the previously-won Producer of the Year.

The Sydney electronic producer performed a version ‘The Greatest View’ together with Isabella Manfredi from The Preatures.

Another big winner on the night was the Peth psychedelic act Tame Impala, who took home 3 gongs including Album Of The Year, Best Group and Best Rock Album for their second album Lonerism.

The group closed the night with a performance of ‘Feels Like We Only Go Backwards’, one of the album's standout tracks.

The Best Female award was awarded to R&B/pop artist Jessica Mauboy for her single 'To The End Of The Earth'. The artist was presented to Mauboy by her musical hero Alicia Keys, one of her Mauboy's musical heroes.

The publically-voted award Song of the Year was awarded to singer/songwriter Matt Corby for 'Resolution'. His thank you speech lasted a mere 15 seconds.

The English boy group One Direction was awarded Best International Artist after their recent five week tour of Australia.

Hall Of Fame

Soft rock duo Air Supply were inducted to the Hall of Fame in honour of their four-decade career that included eight Top Tens singles in the US.

The Performances

The 2013 ARIA Awards were treated to performances from a strong local line up including Flume, Tame Impala, Birds of Tokyo, Vance Joy, Bliss n Eso and Jessica Mauboy in addition to performances from international guests Alicia Keys and Lorde.

Vance Joy made his debut on the ARIAs stage with a performance of his Top Ten hit ‘Riptide’. The Melbourne singer-songwriter was also nominated for four awards on the night.

After bursting onto the world pop scene in the previous year, New Zealand singer Lorde hit the ARIAs with a performance of ‘Team’.

As well as presenting Jessica Mauboy with her Best Female award, Alicia Keys performed a medley of the tracks 'Girl On Fire' and 'Brand New Me'.
