In 2012 ARIA celebrated its very first ARIA Week - a week-long program of gigs, showcases, conferences and events all taking place in and around Sydney in celebration of Australian music in the lead-up to the Annual ARIA Awards. It was deemed such a success, by industry and fans alike, that ARIA Week is back bigger and better in 2013 from November 25 - December 4, featuring showcases curated by EMI, FasterLouder, Inertia, MGM, Nova FM, Sony Music, The Music, triple j Unearthed, Warner Music and Universal Music.
ARIA is thrilled to confirm that Asia-Pacific's only dedicated Electronic Music Conference (EMC) will once again form a key component of 2013's ARIA Week program from December 2 - 4.
Minister for Tourism, Major Events and the Arts, George Souris, said: "The NSW Government is proud to support the ARIA Awards and ARIA Week held in Sydney, the home of the Australian Music Industry. Last year, more than 3,000 visitors from overseas, interstate and intrastate came specifically to the Harbour City for the ARIA Awards and ARIA Week, injecting $1.4 million into the NSW economy. NSW dominates the recorded music and venue-based live music industry in Australia and this year's growing ARIA Week program and ARIA Awards will further cement Sydney's reputation as the creative industries hub of the Asia-Pacific."
ARIA is also excited to announce that this year all Sydney music venues have the chance to be part of ARIA Week festivities! All venues need to do is visit the ARIA Week website (ariaweek.ariaawards.com.au) and head to the event registration page where they can log-in and register the details of any gig they are hosting within ARIA Week and that gig will be added to the official program on the ARIA Week website.
