19 Weeks At #1 For Tones And I

Dance Monkey can't be stopped.

Off the back of Tones And I’s performance and four wins at the 2019 ARIA Awards, 'Dance Monkey' continues its record-breaking run with a 19th week atop the Singles Chart. Meanwhile, her follow-up single ‘Never Seen The Rain’ rises one spot to a new peak of #8.

Buoyed by Dua Lipa’s Australian promotional visit, during which she performed at the ARIA Awards, ‘Don’t Start Now’ moves up from #7 to hit a new peak of #3 on the Singles Chart. This is Lipa’s third track to reach the Top 3, following ‘IDGAF’ (#3 Apr. ‘18) and ‘New Rules’ (#2 Sep. ‘17).

Mariah Carey re-enters the Singles Chart at #20 with her 5x Platinum-certified Christmas classic 'All I Want For Christmas Is You', which debuted at #46 in November 1994 and peaked at #2 during its initial seven-week chart run. It was then absent from the Top 50 until streaming services began to have an impact on the charts in 2012, returning each festive season since and peaking at #1 in December 2018.

Another regular on holiday playlists, Wham!’s ‘Last Christmas’ returns to the Singles Chart at #38 and earns certification of 3x Platinum in the process. The track has received additional promotion this year as a result of its inclusion in the recently released feature film of the same name, alongside other songs by Wham! and George Michael. The soundtrack to the movie sits at #17 on the Albums Chart this week.

Debuts:

#10: The Weeknd 'Heartless' – Canadian singer The Weeknd comes in at #10 with ‘Heartless’, the lead single from his upcoming fourth studio album.

#16: The Weeknd 'Blinding Lights' – It's a double showing from The Weeknd, with the second single from his aforementioned LP also entering the Singles Chart.

#42: Michael Buble ‘It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas’ – As Michael Buble’s Christmas enters the Albums Chart Top Ten for a ninth consecutive year, the opening track on the LP makes its first appearance in the Singles Chart Top 50. It becomes Buble’s first charting single since ‘It’s A Beautiful Day’ reached #33 in 2013.
