Debuts for Katy Perry, Kygo and more!
There’s a new #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart, with American producer DJ Khaled debuting in the top spot with ‘I’m The One’ (see below).
In its second week in the top 50, Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee’s ‘Despacito’ jumps up 16 spots to #10, cracking the top ten for the first time.
In the week that Bliss N Eso’s sixth album Off The Grid debuts at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, single ‘Moments’ has moved up 12 spots to #25. It becomes the Sydney trio’s highest-charting single, taking over from ‘My Life’ (#26 Feb. ’14).
This week’s chart also includes new peaks for Shawn Mendes’ ‘There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back’ (up two to #6), Dean Lewis’ ‘Waves’ (up three to #14), Kaleo’s ‘Way Down We Go’ (up ten to #30), Kyle’s ‘iSpy’ (up two to #33) and Cheat Codes’ ‘No Promises’ (up five to 36).
Debuts:
#1: DJ Khaled Feat. Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper & Lil Wayne ‘I'm The One’ – With the second single from his forthcoming tenth album Grateful, American producer DJ Khaled claims his first #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart. Not only is it his first #1, it’s also DJ Khaled’s first ever top 50 appearance as a lead artist. The track features appearances by Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne.
#29: Kygo & Ellie Goulding ‘First Time’ – Kygo picks up a second Singles Chart entry for 2017 with ‘First Time’. The track sees the Norwegian DJ/producer team up with English singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding. Like ‘It Ain’t Me’ (#4 Mar. ’17), ‘First Time’ comes from Kygo’s forthcoming second album.
#35: Katy Perry Feat. Migos ‘Bon Appétit’ – Following on from ‘Chained To the Rhythm’ (#4 Feb. ’17), Katy Perry releases her forthcoming album’s second single, ‘Bon Appétit’. It’s Perry’s 20th top 50 entry as a lead artist. The track features hip hop trio Migos, who previously charted with ‘Bad and Boujee’ (#34 Jan. ’17).
#41: Charlie Puth ‘Attention’ – American singer-songwriter Charlie Puth picks up his fourth top 50 entry as a lead artist on the ARIA Singles Chart with ‘Attention’. The single is the first to come from Puth’s forthcoming second album. His highest peak to date was with ‘One Call Away’ (#3 Feb. ’16).
