Drake’s “ICEMAN” returns to #1 for a second non-consecutive week on the ARIA Albums Chart this week, while Aussie Amber Lawrence scores a top 20 debut.
Scottish electronic music duo Boards of Canada, aka, brothers Mike Sandison and Marcus Eoin, land at #3 with “Inferno”, their fifth album and first one in 13 years. Until now they had been as high as #24 with “Tomorrow’s Harvest” in 2013. The album also takes #1 on the Vinyl Chart.
Sir Paul McCartney’s “The Boys of Dungeon Lane” is new at #5 on the Albums Chart and #3 on the Vinyl Chart. It’s his 27th studio album release including albums with Wings and Linda McCartney, and was inspired by his childhood memories growing up in Liverpool. Two of the 27 albums reached #1, “Red Rose Speedway” and “Band On The Run”, both in 1973. He has now landed 18 top 10 albums. As part of the Beatles, Sir Paul racked up more than a dozen #1 albums here.
Florida rock band Shinedown land at 7 with “EI8HT”, their eighth studio release, ahead of their Melbourne show this September.
Amber Lawrence comes in at #18 with “Suburban Cowgirl”. The five-time ARIA Award nominee’s last release, 2022’s “Living for the Highlights”, peaked at #5. “Suburban Cowgirl” is also #1 on the Australian Albums Chart.
South Korean girl group Aespa debut at #24 with their second studio album, “Lemonade”. It’s their first top 50 appearance; their best result until this week had been #55 with “Girls” in 2022.
Aussie singer Chloe Parche is new at #34 on the Albums Chart and #2 on the Australian Albums Chart with her latest EP, “Sitting Next To Nellie”.
Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” takes back the #1 spot for its third non-consecutive week on top.
Ariana Grande debuts at #2 with “Hate That I Made You Love Me”, the first track from her upcoming eighth studio album “Petal”. She has now racked up 31 top 20 singles, hitting #1 with “No Tears Left To Cry” (2018), “Thank U, Next” (2018), “7 Rings” (2019) and “Positions” (2020).
Michael Jackson retains the top two spots on the ARIA On Replay Albums Chart with “Thriller” at #1 and “Bad” at #2. He also has the top three on the singles chart: “Billie Jean” at #1, “Beat It” at #2 and “Human Nature” at #3. He is also at #5 with “Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough”.
