The soundtrack from Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters holds off two huge debuts to retain #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart for the second week. Three tracks land in the Singles Chart top 10: lead track Golden sits at #2 on the Singles Chart, Your Idol is at #6 and Soda Pop at #9.
Justin Bieber’s surprise new album, Swag, launches at #2. It’s his seventh studio album and first since Justice four years ago. The Canadian superstar has racked up global sales of more than 150 million units and has scored four chart-toppers here: My World 2.0 in 2010, Believe in 2012, Purpose in 2015 and Justice in 2021.
Eight tracks from Swag arrive in the top 50, led by Daisies at #3, Go Baby at #18 and Yukon at #19. Daisies is his first top 10 hit as a lead artist since Peaches (featuring Daniel Caesar and Giveon) hit #1 for two weeks in 2021.
As a lead artist, Bieber has now racked up 15 top 10 hits. Including collaborations, he has had eight #1 singles: What Do You Mean in 2015, Lose Yourself in 2015-16, Cold Water with Major Lazer and MO in 2016, Despacito with Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee in 2017, I’m The One with DJ Khaled and others in 2017, I Don’t Care with Ed Sheeran in 2019, Peaches in 2021, and Stay with The Kid LAROI in 2021-22.
Moving on to #3, JackBoys and Travis Scott debut with JackBoys 2. The group, which consists of artists signed to Scott’s Cactus Jack Records, hit #5 in 2020 with their self-titled debut album. Scott has charted with four solo albums, reaching #1 in 2018 with Astroworld and 2023 with Utopia.
Wet Leg land at #4 with their second album, Moisturizer. Their self-titled debut album spent one week at #1 in 2022.
NSW south coast rock band The Terrys debut at #54 with their eponymous third album. Their first album, True Colour, peaked at #17 in 2022.
Back to the Singles Chart, Alex Warren’s Ordinary takes the top spot for the 17th week in a row, making it the equal second longest-running chart-topper ever, tied with The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s Stay, which ruled for the same number of weeks in 2021-22. The difference? Ordinary’s run at #1 is unbroken, while Stay collected its 17 weeks in two runs (14 weeks in 2021 and three weeks in 2022).
And while HUNTR/X may hold top album, the real queens of K-pop are back: BLACKPINK return at #12 with their new single, JUMP. It’s their eighth top 40 hit following Kiss And Make Up with Dua Lipa (peaked at #33 in 2018), How You Like That (#12 in 2020), Ice Cream with Selena Gomez (#16 in 2020), Lovesick Girls (#27 in 2020), Sour Candy with Lady Gaga (#8 in 2020), Pink Venom (#1 for one week in 2022) and Shut Down (#5 in 2022).
