Madonna scores her 13th #1 album as “Confessions II” arrives at the summit of the ARIA Albums Chart this week. It’s the sequel to “Confessions On A Dance Floor”, which spent one week at #1 in 2005.

The best-selling female music artist of all time, Madonna has now racked up 22 top 10 albums, hitting #1 with “True Blue” in 1986, the “I’m Breathless” soundtrack in 1990, “The Immaculate Collection” in 1990, “Erotica” in 1992, “Bedtime Stories” in 1994, “Something To Remember” in 1995, “Ray Of Light” in 1998, “Confessions On A Dance Floor” in 2005, “Hard Candy” in 2008, “MDNA” in 2012, “Rebel Heart” in 2015, “Finally Enough Love” in 2022 and now “Confessions II”. Only Jimmy Barnes, The Beatles and Taylor Swift have had more #1 albums.

Newcomer Sienna Shapiro lands at #3 with her debut album, “Visitor”. The UK singer has had three top 50 singles over the past year, including “Die On This Hill”, which peaked at #19.

Legendary UK rock band Deep Purple return with their 24th studio album, “Splat!”, new at #19. Formed in 1968, they hit #1 twice before the ARIA charts started in 1988: in 1970 with “Deep Purple In Rock” and again in 1972 with “Machine Head”. Since then, they have had scored one top 50 album: “Whoosh!” reached #13 in 2020.

Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” holds at #1 for the fifth non-consecutive week on the Singles Chart. Her 2025 track “Weren’t For The Wind” hits a new peak, up from #57 to #37.

As Tame Impala’s “Dracula” climbs to new peak of #8 on the “Billboard 100” and #1 on the Pop Airplay charts in the US, it sits at #9 on the Singles Chart, #1 and clocks its 37th non-consecutive week at #1 on the Australian Singles Chart. Only three songs have spent more weeks at #1 on the latter: Vance Joy’s “Riptide” (61 weeks on top), The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s “Stay” (57 weeks) and Tones and I’s “Dance Monkey” (54 weeks).

New Yorker Sombr scores his fifth top 30 hit in less than two years as “My Body Isn’t Ready” jumps from #46 to #27. Its four predecessors – “Back To Friends”, “Undressed”, “12 To 12” and “Homewrecker” – all reached the top 10.

Michael Jackson’s 1982 album “Thriller” holds at #1 on the ARIA On Replay Albums Chart; it’s the best-selling album of all time, with estimated worldwide sales of 70 million copies. The second single from the album, “Billie Jean”, is #1 again on the On Replay Singles Chart.

Hilltop Hoods sit at #2 on the Vinyl Chart and #3 on the On Replay Albums with “Drinking From The Sun, Walking  Under Stars Restrung”, a remix album of their 2016 album by the same name. It is the second Restrung album after 2007’s “The Hard Road: Restrung”.
