Megadeth’s 17th, and final, studio album claims the top spot on the ARIA Albums Chart this week.
The self-titled album is the American thrash metal’s first #1 and 11th top 50 appearance here, including three top 10 results before this week: Youthanasia (#9 in 1994), Dystopia (#6 in 2016) and The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead (#2 in 2022). Megadeth also claims the #1 Vinyl album.
Former One Direction member Louis Tomlinson is new at #3 with his third solo album, How Did I Get Here?. He reached #6 in 2020 with Walls and #2 in 2022 with Faith In The Future.
American singer and YouTuber Poppy is new at #7 with Empty Hands. It’s her seventh studio album and first to land in the top 50.
The Paper Kites’ If You Go There, I Hope You Find It debuts at #13 on the main chart, as well as #1 on the Australian Albums Chart and #5 on the Vinyl Chart. The debut album from viral masked sensation EsDeeKid, Rebel, lands at #14. In December last year the rapper made headlines by featuring Timothee Chalamet in a remix of 4 Raws in an attempt to debunk rumours that they are, in fact, the same person. The internet remains unconvinced.

Fresh from crowning Triple J’s Hottest 100, Olivia Dean’s Man I Need holds at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart for the 11th consecutive week. Her song So Easy (To Fall In Love) returns to its #4 peak, up from #6 last week.
Harry Styles’ first new music in three years, Aperture, debuts at #2. It’s the lead track from his upcoming fourth solo album, Kiss All The Time. Disco Occasionally, and his 13th top 10 single as a solo artist.
Harry has hit #1 twice: Sign Of The Times spent one week on top in 2017 and As It Was ruled for eight weeks in 2022. As part of One Direction, he clocked 10 top 10 hits including one chart topper, Drag Me Down, in 2015.
The Hottest 100 sends two Aussie tracks back up the chart to new peaks. Keli Holiday’s Dancing2 returns to the chart at #24 (it had previously reached #66), while Tame Impala’s Dracula jumps from #51 to #26 (it had peaked at #28).
Melbourne band Playlunch land their first hit as Keith debuts at #53. It was #4 on the Hottest 100.
No change on the On Replay charts, with Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours holding at #1 on the albums chart and Djo’s End Of Beginning topping the singles chart.
