BTS are back.

They’re back. BTS return after a four-year break with Arirang and scream straight to the top of the ARIA Albums Chart and the Vinyl Chart.

Named after a traditional Korean folk song, Arirang is the band’s third #1 and seventh top 10 album here since 2018 following Love Yourself: Tear (#6 in 2018), Love Yourself: Answer (#9 in 2018), Map Of The Soul: 7 (#1 in 2020), Map Of The Soul: 7 – The Journey (#9 in 2020), Be (#2 in 2020) and Proof (#1 in 2022).

Adelaide rock band Bad//Dreems debut at #5 on the Albums Chart, #1 on the Australian Albums Chart and #3 on the Vinyl Chart with their fifth studio release, Ultra Dundee. It’s also their fifth time in the top 50: until now, their best performer was Hoo Ha!, which reached #10 in 2023.

The band said: “The last thing we won was the D-grade amateur footy flag, so this is a great honour. Thanks to all our amazing fans who bought an album and the team which helped us release this independently. Catch us on our victory lap around Oz before we hang up the boots indefinitely.”

American country star Luke Combs debuts at #3 with his sixth studio album, The Way I Am. All six have reached the top 20, with What You See Is What You Get (2019) reaching #1 and Growin’ Up (2022) and Gettin’ Old(2023) both peaking at #2.

ARIA Award winning country singer Morgan Evans’ Steel Town is new at #17 and #2 on the Australian Artist Chart. It’s his third album: he reached #20 in 2014 with Morgan Evans and #5 in 2018 with Things That We We Drink To. His Steel Town tour starts next month.

On the Singles Chart, Olivia Dean’s dominance rolls on with Man I Need holding at #1 for the 19th week in a row. The last time a different song was on top was mid-November, when Taylor Swift’s The Fate Of Ophelia was at the end of its six-week run.

BTS land at #4 on the ARIA Singles Chart with Swim. It’s their sixth top 10 single, joining Boy With Luv (#10 in 2019), Dynamite (#2 in 2020), Butter (#6 in 2021), Permission To Dance (#6 in 2021) and My Universe with Coldplay (#7 in 2021).
