Morgan Wallen takes the #1 spot on the ARIA Albums Chart this week with his new, 37-track album, I’m The Problem, while Sydney pop punk band Stand Atlantic’s 2024 album Was Here roars back onto the chart at #3 thanks to the release of a deluxe version.
I’m The Problem is the fourth album from Wallen: he peaked at #53 with If I Know Me, #2 with Dangerous: The Double Albumand #1 with One Thing At A Time (it spent two weeks on top in 2023).
The title track from the new album jumps back up the singles chart from #65 to #34 (it peaked at #21 earlier this year), while new track What I Want featuring Tate McRae debuts at #17.
The release of a 10th anniversary edition of Hozier’s self-titled album sees it jump from #27 to #10. It peaked at #3 in 2015.
The late Swedish DJ and producer Avicii debuts at #28 with the compilation album Avicii Forever. He hit #1 in 2013 with True, #10 in 2015 with Stories and #6 in 2019 with Tim.
The 40th anniversary version of Dire Straits’ Brothers In Arms debuts at #33. The album spent 34 weeks at #1 in 1985-86, making it the second longest running #1 album ever in Australia. The soundtrack to The Sound of Music holds the record: it was #1 for 76 weeks across 1965, 1966 and 1967.
On the Singles Chart, Alex Warren holds at #1 for the ninth consecutive week with Ordinary, while fellow American singer-songwriter Sombr sees his first two hits in the top 10: Undressed at #2 and Back To Friends at #3.
Ordinary is now the longest running #1 hit by a solo male singer since The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights spent 11 weeks on top in 2020.
