Olivia Rodrigo’s third studio album becomes her third #1 as “You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love” captures the summit on the ARIA Albums Chart this week.
Her first album, “Sour”, spent eight weeks at #1 in 2021 and “Guts” topped the chart for two weeks in 2023. She also reached #11 last year with “Live From Glastonbury (A BBC Recording)”.
The arrival of the album sees Olivia score her third #1 single in less than two months, as “Stupid Song” enters the Singles Chart penthouse. “Drop Dead” spent one week at #1 in late April and “The Cure” did the same earlier this month. The latter rebounds from #6 to #2 this week and the former is up from #15 to #4.
All 13 tracks from “You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love” are in the top 30, including “What’s Wrong With Me”, a duet with Robert Smith, at #12. That marks The Cure lead singer’s first appearance in the top 50 since the group’s “The 13th” reached #31 in 1996. Olivia is a big fan of Robert, inviting him on stage for a surprise performance at the 2025 Glastonbury Festival.
