Taylor Swift’s The Life Of A Showgirl holds at #1 for a second week on the ARIA Albums Chart. She has now spent a total of 70 weeks on top across 14 albums, starting with Speak Now, which spent one week at #1 in 2010.
Pete Murray’s new album, Longing, is new at #5. It’s his seventh full-length studio album and first in eight years. The Queensland singer reached #1 in 2003 with Feeler, #1 in 2005 with See The Sun, #1 in 2008 with Summer At Eureka, #6 in 2011 with Blue Sky Blue, #17 in 2013 with Blue Sky Blue The Byron Sessions, #3 in 2017 with Camacho, #22 in 2021 with The Night, and #16 in 2023 with Best Of Pete Murray.
Gold Coast singer-songwriter and producer Lyric scores a top 10 debut at #9 with her second EP, The Art Of Falling First. It’s her first chart appearance.
Aussie rapper, dancer and artist Baker Boy lands at #13 with his second album, Djandjay. The Young Australian of the Year in 2019 and winner of six ARIA Awards, he reached #3 in 2021 with his debut album Gela. The new album is named after his late grandmother and a Yolŋu spiritual figure, an octopus spirit said to guide souls.
Former Noiseworks and INXS lead singer Jon Stevens is new at #30 with his 11th solo album, Shimmer. His best chart performer so far is Starlight, which reached #16 in 2017. He was also part of the Jesus Christ Superstar album (he played Judas), which reached #1 in 1992. Noiseworks scored four top 10 albums, hitting #1 in 1991 with Love Versus Money.
Amy Sheppard’s debut full-length album, Born To Be Country, arrives at #45. She reached #16 in 2022 with the EP Nothing But Wild. She is still part of the ARIA Award winning group Sheppard, which has scored four top 10 albums: Bombs Away (#2 in 2014), Watching The Sky (#1 in 2018), Kaleidoscope Eyes (#2 in 2021) and Zora (#8 last year).
After capturing the entire top 12 of the Singles Chart last week, Taylor takes eight of the top 10 this week, with The Fate Of Ophelia spending a second week at #1.
Two big hits bounce back, with Golden from the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack up from #13 to #3 and Olivia Dean’s Man I Need up from #14 to #4. Golden has spent 10 weeks at #1, while Man I Need has peaked at #2.
The highest new entry, Eyes Closed, is from BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and former One Direction member Zayn. It comes in at #47.
Fleetwood Mac’s 1977 classic Rumours reclaims the top spot on the On Replay Albums Chart, while Teddy Swims’ Lose Control holds at #1 on the On Replay Singles Chart, after the singer performed in Sydney this week.
