ARIA DJ Of The Week: U Know.

Each week, ARIA highlights one of the DJs that contributes to the Top 50 Club Tracks Chart.

With 15 years of friendship under their belts, Sydney-based DJ and producing duo U Know. have shared the love for electronic music from a young age. Through their motivation and passion for house music they’ve been able to play alongside some big names such as Simon Dunmore, Mousse T, The Shapeshifters, Dr Packer, Sam Divine, Low Steppa, Ferreck Dawn, Roberto Surace, Kormak, Amine Edge & Dance, Green Velvet and Michael Bibi.

In the studio the pair fuse sampling experiments with their trusty Korg Synthesiser and Novation Peak. In 2020, they released their debut record ‘Saves My Soul’ on Australian label Motive Records. In 2022, they're set to release their first EP Keeping On on Bobbin Head Music. 

1. Tell us about your style of music... 

Deep and Groovy is definitely our style and is the way we are trying to move forward with our own releases. Picture Sebb Junior / T.U.R.F. vibes.

2. What makes a set by you unique?

For us, being unique is to play tracks that people don't know they want to hear and mixing that with the old and the new.

3. What's your guaranteed floor-filler?

‘Doin' Ya Thang’ by Olliver Dollar every damn time.

4. You have to step away from the booth for a break, what's your go-to long song?

‘Smiley Face’ by Duck Sauce. 7:18 mins of genius.

5. What would be your ultimate music collaboration?

6. What is the most rewarding part of being a DJ?

Sharing our love and passion with like-minded house heads. That reaction of "how good is this track" is what it's all about and is what drives us as artists. 

7. Can you share any tips for people who want to become a DJ?

One thing we stand by is to just be true. Have fun with it, play the tracks that you love and that energy will flow.
