#NewMusicFriday: 2 Chainz, Korn, Animal Collective and more out now!

American rapper 2 Chainz releases his seventh album Dope Don't Sell Itself. It's the follow-up to 2020’s So Help Me God! and includes appearances by Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Lil Durk, Swae Lee and more. It could become his first chart appearance since Rap or Go to the League (#35 Mar. ‘19).

American nu-metal veterans Korn return with their 14th album Requiem. It’s their first album since The Nothing (#5 Sept. ‘19), which was their ninth Top Ten album in Australia. Requiem includes the singles ‘Start the Healing’ and ‘Forgotten’.

Returning their first album in six years, Animal Collective release Time Skiffs. It’s the eleventh album from the American experimental pop band. The follow-up to 2016’s Painting With includes the singles ‘Walker’ and ‘Prester John’.

Welsh singer-songwriter Cate Le Bon releases Pompeii, her sixth studio album. The follow-up to 2019’s Reward features Australian drummer Stella Mozgawa (Warpaint, Courtney Barnett, Kurt Vile). It includes the singles ‘Running Away’ and ‘Moderation’.

British band Bastille release their fourth album Give Me the Future. The group’s first album since Doom Days (#21 Jun. ‘19)  includes a spoken-word interlude by British actor and rapper Riz Ahmed called ‘Promises’, plus the singles ‘Shut Off the Lights’ and ‘No Bad Days’.

Japanese-American indie rock artist Mitski releases her sixth studio album Laurel Hell. Featuring singles ‘Working for the Knife’ and ‘Love Me More’, it’s Mitski’s first album since 2018’s Be The Cowboy.

Melbourne pop-punk veterans Bodyjar return with New Rituals, their first album in nine years. Recording the group's eighth album took place throughout 2020 and 2021, a but was heavily delayed by Melbourne’s numerous COVID lockdowns.
