Today the 2017 ARIA Awards with Apple Music are thrilled to announce the first round of Australian performers who will be hitting this year’s ARIA’s stage. This year’s ARIAs will showcase exciting, diverse, and eclectic performers delivering magic moments and collaborations. The line-up will be featuring Apple Music Album Of The Year nominees Gang Of Youths and A.B. Original, Best Female Artist nominee Jessica Mauboy and Apple Music Song Of The Year nominees Peking Duk and Pnau.

GANG OF YOUTHS

Winner in 1 Artisan Award: (Producer Of The Year)
Sydney five-piece Gang Of Youths topped the leaderboard with eight nominations, acknowledging their critically acclaimed #1 ARIA album “Go Farther In Lightness”. The 16 track odyssey was named triple j’s feature album and saw the band tour nationally to sold-out audiences, along with receiving rave reviews from fans and media alike.
A.B. ORIGINAL
Nominated in 6 categories (Apple Music Album Of The Year, Best Group, Breakthrough Artist, Best Urban Release, Best Independent Release, Producer Of The Year)
Australian hip hop pair, A.B. Original, nominated for six nominations. Respectively coming from the Yorta Yorta and Ngarrindjeri tribes, the duo made up of Briggs and ARIA award-winning producer Trials have been bringing attention to issues closer to home. 2016’s “Reclaim Australia” saw the duo win the 12th Australian Music Prize and the album’s lead single ‘January 26’ reach #16 on triple j’s Hottest 100.
JESSICA MAUBOY
Nominated in 6 categories (Best Female Artist, Best Pop Release, Best Video, Best Australian Live Act, Apple Music Song Of The Year, Best Original Soundtrack or Musical Theatre Cast Album)
Securing six nominations, this is ARIA Award winner Jessica Mauboy’s seventh consecutive year of ARIA nominations. Making ARIA Chart history with her latest release, she became the first Indigenous woman to debut and achieve three consecutive weeks at #1. Reaching platinum status, the album also became Mauboy’s first individual #1 album on the ARIA Chart.
PEKING DUK
Nominated in 4 categories (Best Dance Release, Best Group, Best Australian Live Act, Apple Music Song Of The Year)
Australian superstars Peking Duk came away with four nominations, three of which are for their 3x Platinum single ‘Stranger ft. Elliphant’. Peking Duk soared into the Australian music scene in 2014 with their massive 3x Platinum single ‘High feat. Nicole Millar’ and have since released numerous multi-platinum hits culminating in over 130 million streams globally. This exciting next phase sees the dynamic duo take their career to the next level with ‘Let You Down’, featuring Swedish electropop group Icona Pop.
PNAU
Nominated in 2 categories (Best Dance Release, Apple Music Song Of The Year)
Pnau grabbed 2 nominations for their single ‘Chameleon’, the trio first single in four years, and Australia are thrilled to have them back. The track reached triple platinum status, as well as hitting #1 on the ARIA Australian Artists Singles Chart, and over 30 million streams. The single is from their much anticipated forthcoming album “Changa” scheduled for release Friday 10th November.
