As part of the Access All ARIAs series, Linda Marigliano met with the 2020 ARIA Awards nominees for Best Children’s Release - Diver City, Teeny Tiny Stevies, The Vegetable Plot, The Wiggles and Tiptoe Giants - to discuss what it was like to make music for kids in 2020.

Some of the highlights include:

Lee and Meg from TipToe Giants speaking about how lockdown helped to show children the importance of boredom and how this can spark creativity.

The nominees express the importance of tapping into your inner child and to respect children’s creativity and intelligence, that is how music can become authentic to kids.

Matt Okine and KLP from Diver City expressing the importance of creating music that parents will enjoy as well. Vee from TipToe Giants agrees that a great children’s release should be something parents and kids can enjoy together.

Luke Escombe from The Vegetable Plot and Beth Stephen from Teeny Tiny Stevies speaking about how important children’s music is for education, saying that it is a way kids can pick up new words and learn about the world around them.

Lachy from The Wiggles revealing that most of The Wiggles’ shows are freestyled with Anthony keeping both the audience and the group on their toes.
