The 2025 EOY ARIA Charts present an anomaly due to new and significant chart rules implemented in September 2025 to coincide with the cycle of ARIA Award eligibility. As such, the 2025 charts cover two different means of calculation, counting the new rules only after they were implemented.

The changes, which may be viewed here, were introduced to promote the dynamism of new music consumption and remove barriers for new Australian music.

Since September, we have seen a marked increase in the number of Australian acts appearing on the charts, however the full effects of this change will not be clear until the 2026 EOY chart, which will count the current chart rules across all 12 months.
