Aussie hip hop superstars Hilltop Hoods score their seventh #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart this week, while three other local artists’ albums debut in the top 40 and KPop Demon Hunters continues its golden run on the singles chart. 

Fall From The Light is Hilltop Hoods’ ninth studio album, their first in six years, and their sixth consecutive debut at #1. 

Hilltop Hoods have now had more #1 albums than any other Australian group. The winners of 10 ARIA Awards, they have landed in the penthouse with The Hard Road in 2006, State Of The Art in 2009, Drinking From The Sun in 2012, Walking Under Stars in 2014, Drinking From The Sun, Walking Under Stars Restrung in 2016, The Great Expanse in 2019 and now Fall From The Light

Elsewhere on the albums chart, Renee Rapp’s Bite Me is new at #3. The American singer, songwriter and actor reached #42 in 2023 with Snow Angel

Darcie Haven achieves her first chart ink, with her second EP, Angel Of The Apocalypse, debuting at #11. The Perth singer-songwriter’s first headline tour starts next week. Over the past year, she has supported Vance Joy, DMAs, Birds of Tokyo, San Cisco and Alex Lahey.

Aussie rock band The Vanns arrive at #27 with their third album, All That’s In My Head. Their second album, Last Of Your Kind, peaked at #8 two years ago. The band’s 20-date concert tour kicks off in October.

Veteran Australian singer Swanee returns to the chart, with his seventh studio album, Believe, debuting at #37. The older brother of Jimmy Barnes, Swanee’s best chart result was in 1982, when This Time It’s Different peaked at #22. He was also a member of The Party Boys, who reached #18 in 1987 with their self-titled debut album. 

On the ARIA Singles Chart, Golden from the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack holds at #1 for the second week. Tracks from the album make up half of this week’s top 10: in addition to Golden, Your Idol is at #5, Soda Pop at #6, How It’s Done at #8 and What It Sounds Like at #10. 

Chappel Roan debuts at #4 with The Subway, racking up her fifth top 20 single. Good Luck, Babe! and Hot To Go rose to #4 and #19 respectively in 2024, The Giver peaked at #14 in March this year and Pink Pony Club reached #2 in May, just over five years after it was first released. 

Sombr scores his third top 30 single this year, as 12 To 12 jumps from #59 to #23. In May, the New Yorker (real name Shane Boose) was at #2 with Undressed and #3 with Back To Friends. (They are at #11 and #9 respectively this week.)
