Meet the Sydney producer, songwriter, vocalist, DJ and radio host.
Operating under the moniker KLP, Sydney based artist Kristy Lee Peters has gained notoriety as a producer, songwriter, vocalist, DJ and radio host, amassing much deserved national and international attention. Whether it’s through hosting triple j’s House Party each Saturday night, writing her own solo music or co-writing with numerous other artists, chances are you’ve listened to a KLP track before. With her numerous local and international collaborations, topping Hype Machine at #1 as well claiming the #1 position in Japan’s Electronic Chart, KLP is also a well-known songwriter as well as a solo artist.
Amassing a huge 14 million plays for her work on Soundcloud alone, KLP has gained a reputation as a stellar vocalist and performer. Working with industry talents such as Skrillex, What So Not, Slumberjack, Young Franco, SACHI, Terace, Goldfields, Zimmer, Crayon, Satin Jackets and many more, KLP is one of Australia’s most in demand artists.
In 2017 KLP released a constant line of crowd pleasers; house funk number ‘Changes’, then the dance groove ‘Melt’, followed up by fan favourite ‘Never Be The Same’. 2017 also marked a big year for the talented DJ, vocalist and producer with single ‘Changes’ landing her a coveted feature in US DJ Mag and her 2016 track ‘Ember’ ticking over 1.5 million plays on Spotify. Her first release for 2018 ‘Carried Away’ featuring Melbourne outfit Milwaukee Banks was featured with New Music Friday Spotify USA and was streamed over 200,000 times in its first week.
In 2018 she was a featured artist on What So Not’s long awaited debut album, reinforcing her status as an Electro-pop monarch on track ‘Goh’ alongside Skrillex. ‘Goh’ was also featured by key international playlists including New Music Friday USA, Fresh Electronic and Diplo and Friends Radio. KLP also co-wrote and featured on Slumberjack's Fracture EP on their club track 'Take Me', performing with them at their Splendour in the Grass set as well as her vocals featuring on US bass-slime lord Snails album track ‘Forever’ and Australian electro legends The Presets upcoming album.
From multiple national tours to stellar releases and high-profile collaborations with everyone from Skrillex to What So Not to REMI – in addition to her well- loved role as triple j House Party host – it’s no wonder she’s been titled by InTheMix as “one of the electronic musicians running Australia’s new golden age of music”.
