Big moves for Niall Horan, Imagine Dragons, Calvin Harris and more!
Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee hold #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart for an eighth straight week with their Justin Bieber-featured track ‘Despacito’. The single is also #1 for an eighth week in the US and has returned to #1 in the UK after slipping to #2 for a week.
In its ninth week in the chart, ‘Slow Hand’ by Niall Horan has moved up three spots to #2. The single’s new peak comes on the back of Horan’s promo visit to Australia during the week.
Climbing six spots from last week to #6, ‘Thunder’ becomes Imagine Dragons’ third top ten on the ARIA Singles Chart. It equals ‘Radioactive’ (#6 Jul. ’13) as the band’s highest peak.
In the week that Calvin Harris’ fifth album Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1 debuts at #5 on the Albums Chart, ‘Feels’ rockets up 17 spots to #9 to hit the top ten for the first time. It’s Harris’ eleventh top ten single and the first since ‘My Way’ (#9 Oct. ’16).
Further down the chart, there’s new peaks this week for Rita Ora’s ‘Your Song’ (#14), Jessica Mauboy’s ‘Fallin’’ (#15), Katy Perry’s ‘Swish Swish’ (#22), Drake’s ‘Signs’ (#32), Sam Hunt’s ‘Body Like A Back Road’ (#43) and Camila Cabello’s ‘Crying In The Club’ (#45).
Debuts:
#20: Judah Kelly ‘Count On Me’ – Judah Kelly, winner of the 2017 season of The Voice, picks up his first entry in the top 50 on the ARIA Singles Chart with ‘Count On Me’. Prior to the release of his winner’s single, Kelly had charted at #64 with his cover of Leonard Cohen’s classic ‘Hallelujah’.
#35: Hoseah Partsch ‘Paper Planes’ – The Voice’s 2017 runner-up Hoseah Partsch takes out his first top 50 appearance with debut single ‘Paper Planes’. The Melbourne singer will be supporting his coach Boy George’s band Culture Club during their national tour in December.
