Ghost roar onto the ARIA Albums Chart this week with Skeleta at #1.
It’s the Swedish metalheads’ sixth studio album and first chart-topper here. Before this week, they had hit the top 20 three times: Meliora got to #20 in 2015, Prequelle reached #7 in 2018 and Imperapeaked at #3 in 2022.
Formed in 2006, Ghost is fronted by lead vocalist Tobias Forge and his bandmates, who are known only as ‘Nameless Ghouls’.
In interesting news, after more than 240 non-consecutive weeks in the top 100, Pitbull’s Greatest Hits jumps from #30 to a new peak of #21. It had previously been as high as #27.
On the Singles Chart, Alex Warren scores his sixth straight week at #1 with Ordinary, while Chappell Roan’s Pink Pony Club holds at its #2 peak.
Lorde returns with her first single in four years, What Was That, new at #9.
Co-produced by Dan Nigro, who has worked with Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell Roan, Kylie Minogue and others, it’s the lead track from her upcoming fourth studio album.
Lorde was last on the ARIA Singles Chart in 2021, when she peaked at #29 with Mood Ring. She’s had two top 10 hits: The Love Club EP, which contained Royals (#2 in 2013) and Green Light (#4 in 2017).
