It's #NewMusicFriday! Here's what's out this week.
First is the 20th anniversary edition of Powderfinger’s Odyssey Number Five. It was first released in September 2000, hitting #1 on the ARIA Album Charts and winning six ARIA Awards, including Album Of The Year. The new edition features is out on digital, CD and double vinyl.
Also on vinyl is compilation Music From The Home Front. The fundraiser concert took place on Anzac Day this year, and featured legends such Jimmy Barnes, Crowded House, Tones And I, Missy Higgins, Vance Joy and many more. The album hit #1 earlier in the year.
Fremantle indie pop stars San Cisco return with their fourth album Between You And Me. The band have already released a bunch of singles in 2020 such as 'Skin' and 'On The Line'.
Fellow indie rockers Boy & Bear are also back. At Golden Retriever Studio is an acoustic album featuring new versions some of their best songs.
Also out is the soundtrack to the new documentary Slim And I. The film focusses on country music legend Slim Dusty and his relationship with his wife and manager for over 50 years, Joy McKean, who was a songwriter in her own right. The soundtrack features Slim and Joy classics, as well as a new song.
Also in country music is the new album by American songwriter Hardy. He’s written for big stars like Blake Shelton and Florida Georgia Line, and his album A Rock is the first under his own name.
