It’s Friday again - and there’s more new music out today. There’s lots of sudden drops as we head towards the end of the year.
Taylor Swift - Evermore
It is still few hours away at the time of writing, but Taylor Swift has decided to suddenly drop another new album, titled Evermore. Like she did with folklore earlier in the year, it was released shortly after it was announced. Taylor has described the album as a sister to folklore, which hit #1 on the ARIA Charts back in July of this year.
Evermore will be released at 4pm AEDT today.
The Avalanches - We Will Always Love You
After taking 16 years between their acclaimed debut Since I Left You (2000) and Wildflower (2016), The Avalanches third album feels like a rush with only 4 years between releases. Their third album, called We Will Always Love You, continues their work of drawing samples from a wide pool and an army of collaborators including Sampa The Great, Tricky, Johnny Marr, MGMT, Karen O and many more.
Kid Cudi - Man On The Moon III: The Chosen
American rapper Kid Cudi returns again to his Man On The Moon series, which started with his debut album Man On The Moon: The End Of Day (2009). It will be the final part of the trilogy, which was only announced to be released last week. Collaborators include Pop Smoke, Phoebe Bridges and more.
James Blake - Covers
English singer songwriter James Blake released a new EP in October, but he has already followed it up with a new one. His second EP of 2020 is a collection of covers. It features Blake’s take on songs by Roberta Flack, Frank Ocean and others.
George Maple - MYTH
Australian singer and artist George Maple continues to write her own path. Having appeared on songs by Flume, Flight Facilities and Tkay Maidza, Maple has released MYTH, an album and a live performance film. The live show of MYTH premiered at the Sydney Opera House earlier this week.
Cold Chisel - The Live Tapes Vol. 5
The fifth volume of live recordings of the legendary Cold Chisel, the latest set features a Sydney show from 1980, just a few months before they released their classic album East (1980). It features many of their early big songs like Khe Sanh, Standing On The Outside and Choirgirl.
