Debuts for Busby Marou, Boy & Bear, DaBaby and more!
American rapper Post Malone notches up his fourth week at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with third album, Hollywood’s Bleeding, in what was a tight competition.
Following a reissue to mark its 50th anniversary, The Beatles’ legendary 1969 album, Abbey Road, returns to the ARIA Albums Chart at #2. The final studio album recorded by the Fab Four (though not the last to be released) previously returned to the chart in 2009 when their entire catalogue was reissued, peaking at #12. More recently, The Beatles have charted with 50th anniversary reissues of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (#5 Jun. ’17) and their self-titled 1968 album - aka The White Album – (#10 Nov. ’18).
The former #1 by Sydney singer-songwriter Dean Lewis moves up eight spots to #9. A Place We Knew returns to the Top Ten for an eleventh week following Lewis’ performance at the AFL Grand Final last weekend.

#5: Busby Marou ‘The Great Divide’ – Busby Marou follow #1 album Postcards From The Shell House with The Great Divide. The Rockhampton duo’s fourth album becomes their third release to hit the ARIA Top Five, having first appeared that high with Farewell Fitzroy (#5 Oct. ’13). The Great Divide is #1 on this week’s ARIA Vinyl Albums Chart.
#7: Boy & Bear ‘Suck On Light’ – Sydney’s Boy & Bear return with their first album in four years, Suck On Light. It’s the fourth studio album from the quintet and follows on from the #1s Limit Of Love (#1 Oct. ’15) and Harlequin Dream (#1 Aug. ‘13). Boy & Bear’s debut album Moonfire (#2 Aug. ’11) won Album Of The Year at the 2011 ARIA Awards.
#11: DaBaby ‘Kirk’ – American rapper DaBaby makes his ARIA Top 50 debut with second album, Kirk. The album comes only six months on from DaBaby’s debut album, Baby On Baby, which was released in March. Kirk includes contributions from Chance The Rapper, Nicki Minaj, Migos, Gucci Mane and more.
#12: Complete ‘Death Rattle’ – Rapper Complete makes his first appearance on the Albums Chart with Death Rattle. The debut album by the Perth artist’s features a host of guest artists including ARIA-winning fellow Perth MC Drapht.
#13: Steel Panther ‘Heavy Metal Rules’ – Steel Panther score their fifth appearance on the ARIA Albums Chart as they debut with Heavy Metal Rules. The album is the glam metal band’s fifth studio album and the follow-up to Lower The Bar (#10 Apr. ’17). To date, Steel Panther’s highest chart peak was with All You Can Eat (#2 Apr. ’14).
#18: Hermitude ‘Pollyanarchy’ – Blue Mountains duo Hermitude release Pollyanarchy, their first album in four years. The electronic hip hop act’s sixth studio album is the follow-up to chart-topper Dark Night Sweet Light (#1 May ’15), which earned them seven ARIA Award nominations. Pollyanarchy has debuted on the Vinyl Albums Chart at #5.
#20: Opeth ‘In Cauda Venenum’ – Swedish prog metal band Opeth return with 13th album, In Cauda Venenum. Coming three years on from Sorceress (#7 Oct. ’16), it’s their sixth entry in the ARIA Top 50 and was released in two versions: one in Swedish and one in English.
#25: Hellyeah ‘Welcome Home’ – Releasing sixth album, Welcome Home, Hellyeah take out their sixth Top 50 entry. The follow-up to Unden!able (#20 Jun. ’16) is the last album released by the band to feature founding member/drummer Vinnie Paul, who died in June 2018.
