In its fifth week in the chart ‘Rockstar’ by American rapper DaBaby hits #1 for the first time. Its jump to #1 on the ARIA Charts comes a week after it hit #1 in the UK. ‘Rockstar’ comes from DaBaby’s third album, Blame It On Baby (#7 Apr. ’20), his first Top Ten album in Australia. It’s the first time American rapper Roddy Ricch has hit #1 as a featured artist. Earlier this year Ricch scored his debut appearance on the Singles Chart with ‘The Box’ (#4 Feb. ’20).
‘ILY’ by American producer Surf Mesa jumps eight spots to hit a new peak at #17. Featuring vocals by Emilee Flood, the track is a reworking of Frankie Valli’s 1967 hit ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off You’. It exploded in popularity thanks to users on TikTok.
After debuting at #49 last week, German DJ Topic jumps to #25 with ‘Breaking Me’. It’s his second Top 50 entry, coming four years on from ‘Home’ (#11 May ’16), which was accredited Platinum.
Debuting at #46 last week, Don Toliver’s ‘After Party’ climbs 12 spots to a new peak at #34.
Noah Cyrus’ ‘July’ has also hit a new peak, moving five spots to #40.

#37: Katy Perry ‘Daisies’ – After scoring three Top 50 entries in 2019, Katy Perry returns to the chart for the first time in 2020 with ‘Daisies’. It’s the first single to be released from the American pop star’s forthcoming sixth studio album. Perry appeared as a guest judge on Channel Ten’s Masterchef last week, a spot filmed while she was in Australia in March. Last year Katy Perry charted with the standalone singles ‘Never Really Over’ (#7 Jun. ’19), ‘Small Talk’ (#33 Aug. ’19) and ‘Harleys In Hawaii’ (#36 Oct. ’19).
#41: StaySolidRocky ‘Party Girl’ – 19-year-old American rapper StaySolidRocky makes his chart debut with ‘Party Girl’. Released in late-2019, the song has boomed in popularity via TikTok and passed over 13 million views on YouTube. It’s making inroads on the Billboard Hot 100, where it’s currently at #48.
#45: Kygo & OneRepublic ‘Lose Somebody’ – Norwegian DJ Kygo teams up with American band OneRepublic team up for the new single ‘Lose Somebody’. Kygo’s first chart appearance since ‘Higher Love’ (#20 Jul. ’19) is lifted from his forthcoming album Golden Hour. It’s OneRepublic’s first Top 50 entry since ‘Rescue Me’ (#26 Jul. ’19).
