Moves by Billie Eilish, Flume and more!
Despite some strong competition, The Weeknd has held on to the #1 spot on the ARIA Singles Chart for a second week with ‘Blinding Lights’. Just over a month since its release, the track snuck into the Triple J Hottest 100 at #71.
As it hits its 30th week in the Top 10, ‘Dance Monkey’ again holds the #2 spot. It was a big week for Tones And I’s all-conquering hit; not only did it appear at #4 in the Triple J Hottest 100, it passed 1 billion plays on Spotify.
‘Bad Guy’ soars up 18 spots to return to the Top Ten for a 24th week. This week Billie Eilish’s former #1 single scored huge accolades on opposite sides of the globe; first coming in at #1 in the Triple J Hottest 100 and then winning Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year at the Grammy Awards. Eilish’s latest single ‘everything i wanted’ has moved back up to #11.
On the back of placing #2 in the Hottest 100, Flume’s ‘Rushing Back’ cracks the Top Ten for the first time. The Vera Blue collaboration previously hit #15 last November.
After dropping back to #40 last week, Sofi Tukker’s ‘Purple Hat’ jumps 17 spots to hit a new peak at #23. The New York duo’s track was #14 in the Hottest 100.
This week’s chart also features new peaks for the Jonas Brothers’ ‘What A Man Gotta Do’ (#24), Benee’s ‘Glitter’ (#25), Sam Feldt’s ‘Post Malone’ (#28) and No Money Enterprise’s ‘German’ (#43).
#47: Doja Cat ‘Say So’ – American singer/rapper Doja Cat makes her debut on the ARIA Singles Chart with ‘Say So’. Coming from her second album, Hot Pink (#30 Nov. ’19), the track has rapidly increased in popularity thanks to appearing in a number of dance challenge videos on social media app TikTok.
#50: Mallrat ‘Charlie’ – Mallrat hits the Top 50 for the first time with ‘Charlie’. Featuring on the Brisbane artist’s third EP, Driving Music (#10 Sept. ’19), the song hit #3 in this year’s Triple J Hottest 100.
