Debuts for Peking Duk, Vance Joy, Jess Glynne and more!
As they release their third studio album, Youngblood, 5 Seconds Of Summer hold the top spot on the ARIA Singles Chart for a fourth consecutive week with the album’s title track. The track has also been #1 in New Zealand for two weeks.
After debuting at #5 last week, Maroon 5’s ‘Girls Like You’ has climbed up two spots in its second week on the Singles Chart. It becomes the American group’s fifth single to chart in the Top Three and the first since ‘One More Night’ (#2 Aug. ’12).
Moving to #4 in its fifth week on the chart, ‘Back To You’ equals Selena Gomez’s highest Singles Chart peak. She also reached #4 with the Kygo collaboration ‘It Ain’t Me’ (#4 Mar. ’17).
Returning to the Top Ten after two weeks at #11, Anne-Marie’s ‘2002’ picks up a new peak at #8. It had previously peaked at #10.
Climbing up two spots from last week’s debut position, Kanye West’s ‘All Mine’ hits #10. It becomes the hip hop artist’s first appearance in the Top Ten as a lead artist since his collaboration with Rihanna and Paul McCartney, ‘FourFiveSeconds’ (#1 Feb. ’15).
There are also new peaks on this week’s Singles Chart for Noah Kahan & Julia Michaels’ ‘Hurt Somebody’ (#14), Clean Bandit’s ‘Solo’ (#17), Dennis Lloyd’s ‘Nevermind’ (#19), Juice WRLD’s ‘Lucid Dreams’ (#20), Hayden James’ ‘Just Friends’ (#26), A$AP Rocky’s ‘Praise The Lord (Da Shine)’ (#34) and Drake’s ‘I’m Upset’ (#38).
Debuts:
#35: Peking Duk ‘Reprisal’ – Australian dance duo Peking Duk score their first new entry in the ARIA Top 50 for 2018 with ‘Reprisal’. The two-track single includes ‘Fire’ and ‘Distant Arizona’. Vocals on the former are handled by Sarah Aarons, while the latter is sung by Cloud Control’s Alister Wright. Peking Duk last charted with ‘Let You Down’ (#37 Dec. ’17).
#44: NOTD Feat. Bia Miller ‘I Wanna Know’ – Swedish duo NOTD (pronounced “noted”) make their ARIA Singles Chart debut with ‘I Wanna Know’. The track features vocals by American musician/actor Bea Miller. NOTD have previously remixed tracks for Rihanna, Shawn Mendes, Ed Sheeran, Sia and more.
#46: Kids See Ghosts Feat. Louis Prima ‘4th Dimension’ – As their self-titled debut lands at #4 on this week’s Albums Chart, hip hop duo Kids See Ghosts (Kanye West & Kid Cudi) make their first appearance on the Singles Chart at #46 with ‘4th Dimension’. Of the seven tracks by West that debuted in last week’s Top 50, three remain in the chart this week: ‘All Mine’ (#10), ‘Ghost Town’ (#30) and ‘Yikes’ (#33).
#47: Vance Joy ‘Saturday Sun’ – Vance Joy picks up a third Top 50 entry from Nation Of Two (#1 Mar. ’18) with ‘Saturday Sun’. The Melbourne singer-songwriter has previously charted with tracks from the album ‘Lay It On Me’ (#18 Sept. ’17) and ‘We’re Going Home’ (#16 Mar. ’18).
#48: Jess Glynne ‘I’ll Be There’ – English singer-songwriter Jess Glynne picks up her first Top 50 entry as a lead artist since 2015 with ‘I’ll Be There’. The track is the first to be releases by Glynne from her forthcoming second studio album. Her previous solo chart entry was with ‘Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself’ (#10 Oct. ’15). More recently, Glynne charted as a featured artist on Rudimental’s ‘These Days’ (#2 Feb. ’18).
